EISI ENERGY INDUSTRY FIELD TRIP TO BEAUMONT, TX
Energy Industry Support International had a chance to take a field trip to Beaumont, TX to learn more about the city’s rich energy industry history and to tour the ExxonMobil Beaumont refinery.
Our host, Shannon Mires with Beaumont Convention & Visitor’s Bureau started the day with an overview of the amazing services that Beaumont CVB has to offer. The Beaumont CVB’s mission is to promote and market Beaumont, Texas as a premier visitor and convention meeting destination for the purpose of positively affecting the city’s economy – from help with meeting planning and site selection to securing sleeping rooms. Our attendees learned so much about the complimentary convention and visitors bureau services.
Our first trip was an up-close and personal van tour of ExxonMobil’s Beaumont refinery which consists of the refinery, chemical plant, polyethylene plant and lubricant blending and packaging plant. The refinery has grown to 2,700 acres with more than 2,000 employees, along with about 3,000 contractors depending on construction and turnaround activity.
The Beaumont refinery processes 366,000 barrels of crude oil per day and produces 2.8 billion gallons of gasoline annually.
Our field trip ended with a delicious lunch and an in-depth presentation from Luther Martin, OCI Global’s Sr. Projects Engineer.
