INDUSTRY FIELD TRIP
Registrants of the 2025 OGE CVE will have the opportunity to participate in a geological educational training session hosted by Constantin Platon of O.A.K Geosciences at South Shore Harbour Resort & Conference Center. Geology plays a crucial role in the oil and gas industry because it helps identify and extract valuable hydrocarbons from beneath the Earth’s surface. It aids in reservoir identification, drilling decisions, and analyzing rock properties for efficient extraction. Attendees will meet in the Lalique meeting room at South Shore Harbour Resort & Conference Center to get a hands-on interactive education about sedimentary rocks & source rocks and the role they play in oil and gas extraction.
Following the hands on geological session, attendees will meet for a delicious lunch, fun, networking, and additional offshore energy education with interactive activities while they sail through the Kemah waters on the Houston Party Boat.
Field trip attendees will have the chance to sample delicious cuisine sponsored by A La Carte Catering. A La Carte Catering is passionate about food, service, and decor. They provide the best seasonal, scratch-made catering.
Registrants of the EiSi 2025 OGE CVE may participate in the field trip at no additional cost. The field trip gives conference attendees the opportunity to see up-close how the energy industry operates as well as an opportunity to network with fellow conference attendees. Seats are limited and EiSi Professional Members will be given seat preference. Don’t miss it!

ABOUT OUR TRAINER
Constantin Platon, originally from Romania, moved to the U.S. in 2005. An adventurer at heart, he is passionate about teaching and sharing knowledge and skills in all things outdoors. He is a geology professor, certified tennis coach, certified kayak and canoe instructor, and human-powered action sports outdoor educator. He teaches geology in the mornings, coaches tennis in the afternoons, and takes people on outdoor adventures kayaking and canoeing, hiking and biking and camping on the weekends. He is a self-professed “happy camper for 25+ years” and quite frankly, we think he ROCKS! (And not just because he is a geology expert!).
